No, you do not need a referral from your doctor to make an appointment with our speech-language pathologist (SLP). In some cases, it might be necessary for your doctor to provide medical orders for treatment, but our SLP can help arrange that after your first visit.

At this time, Connections: Speech and Language Therapy cannot directly accept insurance for payment. However, we do offer courtesy billing for individuals with out-of-network coverage in their insurance plan; meaning, the client will provide payment at the time of service, and our SLP will submit a bill to the client’s insurance company for reimbursement to be sent to the client’s home address.

If your insurance does not include out-of-network coverage, or if you do not have health insurance, we also accept private pay. Initial screenings are always free, and our SLP will inform clients of all charges prior to being provided any type of clinical service.

Our SLP typically recommends that patients attend therapy 1-2 times per week, depending on the severity of their condition, in order to make progress toward their goals. However, the frequency and intensity of each client's therapy schedule will depend on their unique needs.

Download and print a copy of our New Patient Intake Form to fill out and bring to your first visit, as well as a current photo ID. If you are a caretaker, be sure that your loved one takes all prescribed medications prior to their session; if you are worried that medications with strong side effects might impact their ability to participate, please do not hesitate to call us or send us a message.

Mobile therapy appointments on the SpeechBus are just like any other in-person treatment sessions, except that our office comes to you! For each appointment, our SLP will drive That SpeechBus to your house, so all you have to do is step outside and come aboard. We ask that all patients review our considerations for the SpeechBus and contact us with any questions you may have.
